Classes are taught by Amy Block-Hamilton, CIYT (Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Intermediate Junior I) in her West Orange, New Jersey Studio as well as in Madison, Denville, and Maplewood, New Jersey.
Yoga cultivates the development of a strong, flexible, alert body in connection to the quieting of the mind, awareness of the breath, and discovery of the spirit. This creates a major shift within oneself towards a balanced life. Through yoga, transformation takes place both externally as well as internally. The breath becomes calm and the mind clear.

Amy Block-Hamilton discovered the practice of Iyengar Yoga after having a successful career as a professional dancer. While juggling her dance teaching /coaching schedule with being the mother of two young children, the discovery of a local weekly Iyengar yoga class was like an oasis of peace. Yoga continues to be the perfect way to blend her love of movement with the study of the body/mind/spirit connection.
Amy teaches with a nurturing yet challenging approach, giving clear demonstrations and concise instruction to inspire her students to find alignment in their bodies and steadiness in their minds. She firmly believes that yoga is for everyone regardless of age or fitness level. She teaches a wide variety of classes from Gentle yoga to vigorous study for the experienced student and also offers private sessions.
Amy has been practicing yoga for 20+ years and is a dedicated yoga teacher for over 15 years. She is certified through the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States (IYNAUS) at the Intermediate Junior I level and continues to study with Senior Teachers to advance her knowledge. She has also travelled to Pune, India to study directly with the Iyengar family. Amy is a long-time student of Peentz Dubble and Theresa Rowland and has also been granted a certificate of Yoga for Scoliosis Trainer by Elise Miller.
